BBC News

On BBC News I read about Anti-Afghan War Soldier who was AWOL, but after two years he turned himself into authorities. It was an interesting read as I think we rarely see the reasoning behind the soldiers who go AWOL. He made a valid point as to the fact that he was due to be deployed 9 months after returning from deployment. It stated in the article that they usually wait 18 months to redeploy to prevent PTSD or if they are diagnosed it allows time to see the trauma suffered.

I also read about a woman who was murdered by an ex-boyfriend due to him seeing her picture with her new boyfriend on Facebook. He flew from Trinidad to London and stabbed the 27 year old accountant to death. He was outraged and jealous of her new boyfriend. He has been found guilty, but awaits sentencing. This was interesting as I have had great concerns over some of the content that people are putting on the internet, especially young adults and 20 something year olds.

Another interesting article was on Animal Cruelty in Switzerland and the need for the animals to be appointed legal counsel. Currently there is one attorney that does represent animals in court. He has won some and lost some cases, but believes that anyone without a voice should be represented and heard. Switzerland has strict laws on animal cruelty, but have not been able to enforce them as well as many would like to see done.

This site had RSS Feeds as well.
